I painted this in May in an area that's one of my favorite places to paint, because it's typically accessible in the Winter months, and still has plenty of snow in the Spring. The location (Dutchman Flat outside Bend, OR) has provided me with volumes of firsthand visual information for painting snow-covered mountains, and snow in general. On this particular day, there was plenty of snow, but with springlike temps!
