Pacific Grove Cypress

This is a plein air painting done during the Carmel Plein Air Competition and Show. I was driving toward the coast in Pacific Grove and observed two very large and tall Cypress trees along Forest Avenue about a mile from the coast. I made a U-turn and pulled to the side of the road. I used a 24" by 12" substrate to capture the beauty and height of these giant Cypress Trees on a somewhat foggy midday with my trusty palette knife!!
