I am a devoted practitioner of painting from direct observation. I work primarily with oils. I strive to capture the very first moment when a subject makes its impression. I use a 26 -color palette and paint in one or multiple sessions, utilizing both alla prima painting techniques. These Eden roses grow in my back yard. They are my favorite "models" that keep me busy painting in early summer.
