This was my first time painting a dog or doing a pet portrait. I chose acrylic (on wood panel) so that I can layer fast before losing momentum to capture my dog’s feelings/ambience, completing in a few hours, followed by a couple hours of touch ups. She’s my ever-present companion who follows me wherever I go, usually with this ball seen in the painting, hoping for any chance to play.
