An original oil painting, Ascending Courage depicts the gentle but attentive love and care given to a kid by it's mother as it learns to navigate the terrain of a rugged mountain wilderness. I painted this piece as a gift to my father, an avid hunter who included me on annual hunting trips into the spectacular mountains of the Northwest - instilling in me a deep love and respect for the wilderness and the souls who call it home.
