Downtime
I started this painting at a life model session. The model was a young dancer who also was an artist. After the summer, she was returning to school in New York, I believe. I especially enjoy painting models who bring in their identities. Her dance shoes were worn, and she seemed to be feeling a little tired. So, I exaggerated her emotionless feelings, a bit subtle but enough to catch that moment that she may need a rest.
