I was very happy about this piece because my aim, when it comes to the technical aspect of painting, is to achieve the sense of reality with clear, fresh, single marks. If you zoom in and look closely, you’ll see individual marks, achieved with a single hand movement and pastel sticks of different shapes. When you step away, these individual marks will flow into a realistic image.
