Bald Eagle Creek

In 2023 I partnered with ClearWater Conservancy to create an artistic body of work to raise money and awareness for conserving more of our central Pennsylvania landscapes. I hiked along as an artist-in-residence with ClearWater's Centred Outdoors program. The collection of twelve pastel paintings highlights some of the favorite places we visited.

A mitigation project to offset an environmental disaster opened up the opportunity for the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation to restore wetlands and habitat for wildlife and birds, build nature trails and viewing platforms, and create a path and fishing platform accessible by people of all abilities. Since I had been on a tour of the Soaring Eagle Wetland a just a few weeks before with my fellow Hamer Foundation trustees, I arrived early to this week's site’s fishing platform to paint Bald Eagle Creek en plein air. The Centred Outdoors hiking group enjoyed seeing my pastel painting progress, along with a few fishermen and a couple of families out for a nature walk around Soaring Eagle Wetlands’ trails.
