The Torrey Pine is a tree found in San Diego that is very rare. The ancient tree stands amongst the worn sandstone cliffs. The tree’s graceful and asymmetric shape is sculpted by the ocean winds. It’s a design waiting to be be painted and the sandstone cliffs in shadow had beautiful cools and warm hues that beckoned my palette to capture them.
