This is a painting of a dew covered flowering grass stalk about to burst with seeds. It is painted on an unprepared aluminum panel. I used mixtures of a medium made of turpentine, linseed oil and linseed stand oil. I first blocked in the large shapes with thin paint of green earth. I continued using multiple layers of paint, with every layer adjusting the shapes, the tonal values, the edges and the color.
