This praying mantis lived at a local garden where I was painting. She posed for me as I took many photos. I painted her sitting on a Jack in the Pulpit flower since she is praying. She is also preying! Her mate is cowering in the background. It is not looking good for him since females eat their mates after mating. Yikes!
