Lake in the forest
The painting was executed by me on a plainer, in one go, using extra soft Sennelier pastels on heavy 300 gr tinted paper. The painting was done without any preliminary drawing, with just one quick sketch to clarify the details of the composition.
The painting was executed on the shore of an overgrown lake at the very beginning of summer, when the shade from the barely swaying crowns of the coastal trees gave the artist and his easel a shelter and allowed him to capture the elusive image of "forest peace" on paper for a few unforgettable hours.
