Ongoing 630 72
This is a continuous project that explores emotional changes. Each stroke recalls my personal unconsciousness through different times and spaces. The numerals on the title are the zip code that indicates the place where I draw. Each drawing is an individual piece but also can be combined at will. This project hasn't ended yet. It will probably end someday when I feel that way.
This series is drawn in Greece, as shown in the zip code 630 72. It is a drawing installation. Here is the statement below:
We always come to the beach and burn some wood at night.
I like to come later in the day and use these charcoals to draw.
Before the burn, they were dead branches, bushes, bamboo...
And supposed to be alive in the woods near the beach.
No matter when they died and then dried.
It’s time to grab them to the bonfire.
The olive tree branches burnt out the particular fresh smell out of the smokey fire.
Some woods retain big chunks of charcoal;
Some are burnt into ashes instantly.
But after that, they all became charcoals.
I wanted to feel about their life, so I came to the beach several times during the day.
Listening to the waves crashing on the shore while leaving some traces on my paper by working with them.
I can feel the time passing, though.
It’s endless.
Death is not the ending;
it’s a celebration of new life destined to come very soon
