This painting was done plein/“pane” air, from my studio window, last week in WI. Just a few hours after I finished this painting, the winter storm damaged the trunk and branches of this beautiful old willow beyond repair . I am grateful to have this painting and memory…hence the title “ The Calm” …before the storm.
